about
Joel Borkowski had a concept where he'd record someone improvising while he showed them a set of twelve images. Then he'd do the same with someone else and see how they lined up. This originally came out on cassette with Bob and I on one side and Scott Endres and Matt Stevenson from the Make on the other.
From the original liner notes-
Concept: expose musicians to a set of images and have them resond with sound on their chosen instrument. The images, 11 total, consisting of alternating 2 minute and 30 second blocks (see insert to follow along). The musicians were not allowed to communicate with one another regarding their content. Each musician's response to the series of images was recorded in isolation from all other musicians. These responses were later mixed down into pairs.
